The Beautiful Ones are a collective of dancers, singers, musicians, models, and visual artists who create performance art and myth. With a name inspired by magical characters from the Barbara Hambly novel Sisters of the Raven, the group plays with sexuality, identity, and our connection to nature, using imagery from the worlds of fashion and fantasy. We appear at clubs, galleries, dance spaces & theatrical venues in a variety of guises and forms. We also provide online multimedia art and messages called Electric Announcements.

Some of our previous projects have included:

*Dancing (both freestyle and choreographed movement) as various painted elemental characters for parties for the art/media company BLOOM with supporting video and photography installations from visual artists

*Performing live electronica music set with guest artist specimen 001 at Santos Party House

*Modeling for Bello Mag jewelry fashion editorial, paying tribute to aboriginal cultures from around the globe

*Artist modeling for illustration project from artist Steven Brown, aka bboywerx

*Appearing as Floating Flowers (concept by artist Avi Adler) at Pratt Institute Fashion Icon Awards/Benefit

*Living in Color performance art salon at Casa Frela Gallery with photographer and body paint artist Ricardo Muniz; photo exhibition, live nude modeling, a body painting session, solo dance performance, and video installation (June 17 2011)
